Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs)
a- Knowledge and Understanding:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
a.1 State the general basic knowledge about surgical anatomy.
a.2 Identify the basis of the inflammatory process and its consequences, termination and squeal.
a.3 Recognize the principles of general surgery with special reference to the different types of swellings and their differentiation.
a.4 Familiarize the different types of incisions, wounds and fracture management.
a.5 Distinguish the basis of surgical affections of the joint and tendons.
b- Intellectual Skills:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
b.1 Able to differentiate between different types of swellings.
b.2 Asses the appropriate suture pattern and dealing with different types of wounds.
b.3 Interpret the different types of fractures, joint and tendons affections through collecting the clinical signs and the radiographic pattern.
b.4 Conclude the more suitable time for interference in the different surgical conditions.
c- Professional and Practical Skills:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
c.1 Practice the accurate antiseptic procedures before surgery.
c.2 Preparing and handling of the different surgical instruments.
c.3 Implement the basic surgical incisions and suture patterns.
c.4 Fixation of simple types of fractures.
c.5 Performing simple surgical interferences.
c.6 Follow up of the surgical cases.
d- General and Transferable Skills:
After successful completion of the course the students should be able to:
d.1 Solve problems associated with pet animal diseases.
d.2 Communicate with other colleagues for reaching diagnosis.
